Why I love Grace

Volunteers are at the center of our history and most certainly, our future. Volunteers visit residents, establish one-to-one friendships and brighten a resident's day. They are smiling faces in our facility and help to ameliorate loneliness, helplessness and boredom. Volunteer opportunities include educational and cultural programs, clerical support, and transportation assistance within the building.Volunteers make a difference by:
- Reading with residents
- Leading discussion groups
- Joining residents for card and board games
- Delivering residents' mail
- Helping celebrate special events or our monthly birthday parties
- Visiting residents and providing companionship to those without families
- Presenting music and storytelling performances

What type of things could I do?
Volunteers enrich the lives of our residents. From one-on-one bedside visits to reading to small groups to entertaining the whole facility, there are many different levels of involvement. Giving manicures, watching a ballgame, providing musical entertainment or arts and crafts projects are some of the ways our volunteers let the residents know they have not been forgotten.
When would I start?
After you decide what you would like to do and how often, you fill out an official application, attend an orientation class and become part of our Grace Manor family with your own place on the schedule. Welcome!
